You could pick up a remastered copy of Kraftwerk’s The Man-Machine (along with seven other albums) come October 5. In the mean time, enjoy The Model from the regular old copy, along with Big Black’s noisy version of The Model.
She’s a model and she’s looking good
I’d like to take her home that’s understood
She plays hard to get, she smiles from time to time
It only takes a camera to change her mind
She’s going out tonight whilst drinking just champagne
And she has been checking nearly all the men
She’s playing her game and you can hear them say
She’s looking good for beauty we will pay
She’s posing for consumer products now and then
For every camera she gives the best she can
I saw her on the cover of a magazine
Now she’s a big success I want to meet her again
Been digging this mix a lot from San Diego’s Mark E. Quark. Very synthy. From Alona’s past Lovenoodles vault of sounds.

I wanted you. And I was looking for you. But I couldn’t find you. I wanted you. And I was looking for you all day. But I couldn’t find you. I couldn’t find you. You’re walking. And you don’t always realize it, but you’re always falling. With each step you fall forward slightly. And then catch yourself from falling. Over and over, you’re falling. And then catching yourself from falling. And this is how you can be walking and falling at the same time.

Earlier this month I went to a party at the Standard Rooftop in Downtown L.A. for Shaun Reeves, Droog (who have recently launched their own record label, Culprit), Matías Aguayo (of Cómeme & Kompakt) and John Wander (of Roam Music). Music was great, met some new people as well. One of them is Yelva, and she does a fashion blog called Fashion Puttana. Another guy was James, or how I like to call him: T-bird James, and besides working at the Standard he is in the band Meho Plaza. Snapped some photos of these people with their tattoos or accessories.
Matías Aguayo spinning and singing as the sun begins to set

Brian Eno, one of my many heroes, will be giving a lecture on Sunday September 20th at CSU Long Beach’s Carpenter Performing Arts Center at 7pm. His 77 Million Paintingswill be exhibited at CSU Long Beach from September 12th – December 13th.
Brian Eno is one of the most prolific and diverse artistic innovators of our time. Creator of modern ambient music, producer for a wide range of artists—including David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2 and Coldplay—Brian Eno’s artistic influence continues to be a world-wide inspiration.
One of his latest innovations is 77 Million Paintings, a monitor-based exhibition that slowly evolves into endless combinations of colour and shape. It receives its exclusive Southern California installation at CSULB’s University Art Museum. See the exhibition then join us for a rare lecture by Brian himself.
Natty Brooker, ex-Spacemen 3 drummer, and also the artist who has done a lot of album covers and packaging for Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized, is having an art opening in Los Angeles. William Carruthers (another ex-Spaceman) is helping promote the art opening. The question is, will Sonic Boom show up since he is in L.A. producing MGMT, and will there be a Spacemen 3 jam session?

Jet! I can almost remember their funny faces
That time you told me that
You were going to be marrying soon.
And jet, I thought the only
Lonely place was on the moon.
Jet! jet!
Jet! was your father as bold as a sergeant major?
How come he told you that
You were hardly old enough yet?
And jet, I thought the major
Was a lady suffragette.
Jet! jet!
Ah, matter, want jet to always love me?
Ah, matter, want jet to always love me?
Ah, matter, much later.
Jet! with the wind in your hair of a thousand laces.
Climb on the back and well
Go for a ride in the sky.
And jet, I thought the major
Was a lady suffragette.
Jet! jet!
