The canyon that my backyard overlooks is Box Canyon. You can’t really see the waterfall from the picture, so I drew an arrow. More about Box Canyon:
The La Costa Preserve is about 1,000 acres of natural open space, including 200-foot deep Box Canyon with its dramatic 40-foot waterfall. Owned and managed by The Center for Natural Lands Management (a non-profit foundation), the Preserve protects dozens of native plant species and wildlife – including mule deer, horned lizards and red-tailed hawks in accordance with the City of Carlsbad’s Habitat Conservation Plan.
